One of my favorite things to do with clients is to scout for a location.

The location of your photo shoot is very important.  It is the backdrop of your photos.  It along with your clothes sets the mood.  Location scouting serves another purpose as well; it gives me the perfect opportunity to get to know you better.

It is so important for me that I know what you want and are expecting from your photos.  Yes, of course, you want them in focus and with ample light, but you also want more. . . to convey a certain feeling, look or message.Facetune_16-04-2018-17-25-49

I had the pleasure of  location scouting with Miss Rokeisha a few months back.  During our scouting trip I learned her personality, style, expressions and humor.  Equally as important I got to hear her visions, dreams and how she plans to use the photos we take.  All of this information will help me to exceed her expectation when we do her Hair Salon Branding Shoot later this summer.

Location scouting also gives you the chance to get to know me.  You get a feel for my style and personality.   Chatting about the upcoming shoot, your vision and any questions you may have will help to bring your vision into focus on shoot day, and create a natural working style between us.

Always keep in mind the time of year (season) and the time of day as you scout.  These things make a difference in what will be happening in nature, the colors naturally available and the natural light on the actual day of the photo shoot.

All of this makes for a smoother, more relaxed photo shoot which of course yields fabulous pictures that capture the total you!

….and of course some fun photos while we were scouting…
